Christ School CBSE celebrated the 78th Independence Day on the 15th of August 2024 with great pride and patriotism. The celebration commenced at 8:00 AM with the arrival of the dignitaries, including our esteemed Principal, Fr. Johnson Kadaparambil CMI, our Chief Guest, Dr. Aravind Kumar Gupta, and our Guest of Honour, Ms. Roselin Castro.
Guard of Honour and Flag Hoisting
The event began with the Guard of Honour, meticulously led by the students and supervised by our NCC cadets. The National Flag was unfurled by Fr. Johnson Kadaparambil, accompanied by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour, amidst the singing of the National Anthem, which echoed a deep sense of respect and devotion.
Independence Day Competition 2024
On account of Independence Day, the Green House organized various competitions for each grade, ensuring active participation and engagement of all students. Grade 1 students participated in a Fancy Dress competition on the theme of Freedom Fighters, while Grades 2 and 3 had a drawing competition on National Symbols. Grade 4 students showcased their singing talents in a Patriotic Song competition, and Grades 5 and 6 participated in a Slogan Writing competition on the topic of Peace and Harmony. A Poster Making competition was held for Grade 7, while Grade 8 students displayed their oratory skills in a Speech competition on Unity in Diversity. The creative minds of Grade 9 students were put to work as they made Craft Models of the Indian map, and Grade 10 students expressed their thoughts through an Essay competition. The competitions were conducted smoothly across various venues in the school.
Through these competitions, the students were able to connect with the great history of how our country gained its freedom through different struggles, instilling a sense of pride in being an Indian.
Tableau Presentation
One of the highlights of the celebration was the tableau presented by the students, which vividly depicted India’s rich history, culture, and diversity, earning loud applause from the audience.
Prize Distribution Ceremony
The event also featured a prize distribution ceremony, where students who excelled in various activities were recognized and awarded by the Chief Guest and the Principal.
